Let's come together as a yoga community to radiate peace

We are deeply saddened by the situation in Ukraine. Families fleeing the conflict have left their homes with only the items they were able to carry.

To offer our support we have put together a yoga fundraiser to raise donations for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) so they can provide food, water, shelter, healthcare and protection for the people of Ukraine.

The DEC is made up of 15 member charities who are experts in humanitarian aid and specialise in different areas of disaster response. DEC charities are in Ukraine and neighbouring countries meeting the needs of all refugees and displaced people.

We are reaching out to the YOAS community to come together and join us on Saturday 26 March from 8.00 - 9.30am for an offering of asana, mudra and chanting from two wonderful YOAS teachers, Emma Arscott and Kate McKenzie, to radiate peace and raise funds to support the people of Ukraine.

8.00 - 9.00am - Peace practice with Emma Arscott

Emma will lead a 60 minute peace focused yoga practice.

We will move through a slow, yet strong alignment-based flow to strengthen, tone and soothe the body. We will explore and connect through movement and breathwork keeping mindfulness at the heart of the practice.

Our focus will be cultivating a sense of inner peace that we can radiate out into the world.

9.00 - 9.30am - Mudra & chanting with Kate McKenzie

Kate will lead a 30 minute practise of mudra and chanting. We will come together to practice Shanti Mudra and set a collective intention for peace.

Prana Mudra, also known as Shanti (Peace) Mudra, is a combination of breath awareness, gentle arm movement and visualisation. It allows us to feel connected to source and engenders both inner and outer Peace.

We will move into chanting the sacred sound Aum, the bridge between the individual and the universal and creative force behind everything. We will close with a sung blessing for love, light and peace.

How it works

Book your place though our website. The yoga classes will be live streamed through Zoom.

Once you have made a booking we will send further details about yoga equipment (or alternatives) needed. Links to access the classes will be sent the night before.

There are donation only options available for those unable to attend or anyone who would like to donate more. Class recordings will be shared with all after the event.

We look forward to connecting with you all and practising together. Thank you for your support and for being part of our amazing community. All funds raised will be donated to the DEC for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
