About the Sadhana weekender
The Sadhana Yoga weekender returns in August 2018 with the primary focus being you. Immerse yourself in yogic practices, nurture yourself and dive deep into the practice. Enjoy the surrounding Devon countryside, eat delicious wholesome food, take a sauna and find the space to breathe.
There will be a full daily programme of yoga practice. See below for the sample schedule. Lila will host the weekend and hold the space. She looks forward to welcoming you.
Just two miles from Totnes, Eden Rise provides a beautiful environment for this Sadhana weekend. Neighbouring land includes wooded fringes, the Harbourne river, sculptures and shrines and the Santa Rosa labyrinth.
Please note: this weekend is not suitable for complete beginners - least one year of practice is recommended. Please email us if you have any questions regarding attending.
The weekend programme
This retreat is geared towards yoga. Across the three days we will immerse ourselves in a variety of practices; Asana, Pranayama, Kriyas, Chanting, Mantra, Sutras, Meditation and more.
Friday (arrive from 3pm)
3.00pm - Arrival
4.00pm - Welcome
4.30pm - Hatha Yoga
6.00pm - Dinner
7.30pm - Silent Mantra Meditation & Kirtan (singing of Mantras)
9.30pm - Observing Mindful Mouna - Silence
6.30am - Guided Pranayama, Silent Meditation, Mantra Chanting
7.30am - Warm cleansing Lemon water or Tea
8.00am - Hatha Yoga - asana, pranayama, relaxation
10.00am - Brunch
11.00am - Karma Yoga (a selfless offering e.g. cleaning, chopping veggies for 20-30 mins)
12 noon - Cultivating Yoga Sadhana in daily life
1.00pm - Energy drink (so like a turmeric shot or power juice of some form)
2.00pm - Silent hour for reflection, journaling or Meditation
4.00pm - Hatha Yoga - asana, pranayama, relaxation
6.00pm - Dinner
7.30pm - Concentration & Calming the Mind - Tratak Meditation
9.30pm - Observing Mindful Mouna - Silence
Accommodation & food
Accommodation for this retreat is shared twin rooms or mini dorms. Rooms are simple, eco-painted and most have doors to the courtyard garden or upper terrace. Camping is also available, please bring your own tent. The retreat centre and accommodation is perfect for a sadhana retreat. All bathrooms are shared.
There is also a sauna room for guests to use.
All meals will be organic and vegetarian. Please do advise when booking of any dietary needs.
My favourite yoga retreat so far! Just back from a weekend at Eden Rise in Totnes. A lovely group and fabulous teacher. Lila...managed to create a real feeling of family in such a short time. The setting was gorgeous, the yoga and meditation just perfect, and I really enjoyed the time to be still and quiet, as well as have a chance to meet some lovely people. The venue was beautiful and everyone was so warm and welcoming to me. Lila our instructor was incredible, so warm and patient and there was no pressure. The weekend was exactly what I needed. I’ve been on many retreats (and taught at a few), and this one is right up there with the best of them. I guess a lot of people are attracted to beautiful locations or pampering or a specific style, but this weekend had everything that really mattered, and I would attach the prefix “fabulous" to all of these: yoga, food and company. I guess the last one is a matter of serendipity, but you do get what you ask for. Thanks again for a fabulous weekend.Steve
Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend. It was exactly what the doctor ordered! I live a fairly hectic life so to take a whole weekend for myself to relax, unwind and get a new sense of perspective was much needed and it felt so good. The best part is that I have carried that sense of peace, awareness and control that we blossomed over the weekend back home to the 'real world'. Life is good, I'm heading in the right direction, after clearing space at the retreat I can see that so clearly now.Tom

The nearest railway station is Totnes (direct line from London Paddington) and then a short (under 2 miles) taxi ride to Eden Rise.
