Set in stunning countryside, Pauntley Court, dating back to the 1300's, offers a tranquil escape in a stunning location. Steeped in history, it is the birthplace of Dick Whittington and was home to Elinor Fettiplace. The house is full of character and offers luxury accommodation with far reaching views across the surrounding countryside.

Walk in the exquisite gardens, choose a bench to read your book, or simply get lost in the views. Just two hours from London and only one hour from Bristol and Birmingham, Pauntley Court is perfectly located for a weekend of yoga as you fill up on fresh air and nature.

The daily programme

The first class will be on Friday evening, followed by a delicious dinner. Dory will then lead you through two classes on the Saturday, a more dynamic morning class to align to body and breath and an afternoon practice to delve deeper into the postures and relax and restore. Each morning will start with meditation or a guided walk. On Sunday there will be a morning practice before breakfast, another shorter class before lunch and the end of the retreat. There will also be an optional afternoon workshop on the Saturday to explore yoga philosophy and vedic chanting.

Each day after morning yoga and a healthy breakfast, there will be the opportunity to walk, enjoy the beautiful grounds, have a massage or relax in one of the comfy lounges. A magical and very special country retreat. Arrival time on Friday 12 June is from 4pm onwards. The first yoga session will be at 5.30pm. The weekend will finish on Sunday 14 June after lunch at 2pm.

Things to do

The surrounding area offers an abundance of walks. If you fancy exploring further afield take a trip to Gloucester's historic cathedral and docks or add a day of walking in the Malvern Hills. There will be massages on offer in the free time, or curl up on one of the sofas to read or enjoy an afternoon nap.

Accommodation & food

The luxurious rooms are spacious, light and offer an extremely comfortable haven to relax and rest in. All rooms are very well appointed and are either en-suite or have their own private bathroom.

Delicious organic food will be served throughout the retreat. All meals are vegetarian - delights to nourish body and soul.

I am still feeling the positive effects from my break. The location was beautiful, the food fantastic, the people lovely and Dory, by far, is the best teacher I have had in 18 years...
Food was totally fabulous and Dory is a great teacher. The house is amazing. Such a privilege to stay in a place like that. Looking forward to the next one and I recommend YOAS frequently to my friends.
Jenny
Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend. It was exactly what the doctor ordered! I live a fairly hectic life so to take a whole weekend for myself to relax, unwind and get a new sense of perspective was much needed and it felt so good. The best part is that I have carried that sense of peace, awareness and control that we blossomed over the weekend back home to the 'real world'.
Tom
Thank you so much for a wonderful yoga weekend! Dory's yoga teaching was everything I could have hoped for - beautifully balanced practices with new awareness for me to take home, all taught with kindness and fun! I really respected your knowledge and practice as well as your good-vibe teaching.

Just to send heartfelt gratitude once again for the wonderful retreat at the weekend. Dory, you are so inspiring and words just can’t do justice to the impact the whole weekend, with you at its helm, has had on me. I feel like I’m back on track now and have been reminded of, and grounded in, who I am and the direction I want my life to take.
