About Pauntley Court

Set in stunning countryside, just two hours from London and only one hour from Bristol and Birmingham, Pauntley Court offers a tranquil escape.

Steeped in history dating back to the 1300s, it is the birthplace of Dick Whittington and was home to Elinor Fettiplace. The house is full of character and offers luxury accommodation and exquisite gardens with far reaching views across the surrounding countryside.

Retreat programme

The first class will be on Friday evening, followed by a delicious dinner. On Saturday, Catherine will lead you through two classes the first before breakfast and another in the afternoon. Classes are inspired by the work of Vanda Scaravelli, anatomically focused and provide a space to explore and dive deep into this meditative practice.

On Sunday there will be a morning practice before breakfast, another shorter class before lunch and the end of the retreat.

Arrival time on Friday 17 November is from 4pm onwards. The first yoga session will be at 5.30pm. The weekend will finish on Sunday 19 November after lunch at 2pm.

Things to do

The surrounding area is perfect for a long country walk or if you fancy exploring further afield you can take a trip to Gloucester's historic cathedral and docks or add a day of walking in the Malvern Hills. There will be massages on offer in the free time and comfy sofas where you can curl up with a good book.

Accommodation & food

The luxurious rooms are spacious, light and offer an extremely comfortable haven to relax and rest in. All rooms are very well appointed and most are either en-suite or have their own private bathroom. Two rooms share a bathroom.

Delicious healthy food will be served throughout the retreat. All meals will be vegetarian delights to nourish body and soul.

Well that was one special retreat! Thank you so much. Pauntley Court is the most extraordinary place - it has an incredible energy and provides the perfect setting to really retreat. Having practised with Catherine for a couple of years now I knew the yoga would be amazing but so lovely to really be able to drop in to the practice and immerse for a few days. We had many laughs, incredible classes and the food was beyond words! Lovely ladies cooking for us and providing healthy, hearty meals!! I arrived totally exhausted and left totally rejuvenated.

Even after a busy day at work I'm still riding the wave of relaxation from the weekend's yoga retreat with Catherine at Pauntley Court. It was perfect. The venue was exquisitely beautiful, the food delicious and healthy in equal measures, and Catherine's classes were as thoughtful, restorative and instructive as I expected.

The retreat was superb - feel utterly spoilt as this was my first retreat - feel I have gone in very high! Fabulous venue (everything from hat blocks to real fires), the food (immense), the massage (shed years) and last but by no means least - the yoga (just excellent). Highly recommend and will be looking for more in the future with you!
