About West Lexham

West Lexham is a thriving country manor estate that has been transformed by the Colville family to bring it back into local community life. It is a unique blend of elegant country manor estate with a wonderfully bohemian vibe, set in beautiful gardens, woodland and only 30 minutes drive from the sea.

The estate offers an idyllic natural environment with an eclectic range of accommodation from peaceful, modern en-suite rooms to cosy cottages. The heritage barn has been stunningly converted and provides an airy, bright space with underfloor heating, perfect for yoga and entertaining. The second yoga space is in the charming village hall closeby on the estate which has recently been refurbished and offers another beautiful space to practice with underfloor heating.

The daily programme

This retreat will be an opportunity for you to be in company with old friends or making new. If you prefer it will offer the chance to have some quiet time, space and reflection - it's your choice, alongside a morning and evening programme of yoga, pranayama, meditation and celebration.

West Lexham offers plenty of space for a gathering of about 40 yogis with two yoga teachers leading the retreat and two separate yoga spaces. Each morning there will be a yoga class followed by a delicious breakfast with free time and lunch to follow. We will then meet again in the afternoon for another yoga practice. For each practice you will be able to choose between a more challenging dynamic practice or something more gentle and restorative, as you feel.

There will be a delicious celebratory dinner on New Year's Eve, a bonfire and celebrations.

Between classes there will be time for walks, trips to the beach, massage treatments or the space and time to simply hang out with a good book or relax by the fireside.

Accommodation at West Lexham

West Lexham offers unique, beautiful and very comfortable accommodation with a mix of single, twin and double rooms, dorm spaces and amazing tree-houses.

There are luxurious en-suite rooms set around a courtyard adjacent to the yoga barn. All have underfloor heating and huge windows which flood the rooms with natural light. They combine rustic charm with funky modern twists.

Charming and cosy traditional flint cottages are also part of the estate. All cottage rooms have been recently refurbished and offer luxury chic interiors with twin or double bedrooms, most are en-suite and 2 rooms share a bathroom.

We also have stunning fully heated tree-houses and cabins. One treehouse is more open with an en-suite bathroom and the other has more separate sleeping areas and bathroom facilities a short walk away. There are also charming wooden cabins for single occupancy with en-suite bathrooms.

Client Reviews

The retreat was incredible! It was an amazing and calming way to begin the new year. The retreat was so well organised with so many lovely finishing touches from Wendy and her family that made it extra special. The food was delicious and the kitchen team were kind and accommodating. Everyone was really friendly and it made my first solo yoga retreat a lovely experience. Thank you so much!

I'd just like to say what a fabulous experience the New Year retreat at West Lexham was. It was brilliantly organised, the location was excellent, and the facilities were really good...the food was fantastic, the company was great, and the New Year's Eve bonfire was a great way to welcome in the New Year. Thank you so much, namaste.

This was my second New Year retreat in West Lexham. Loved it, lovely people, great food, excellent yoga, relaxing, challenging and inspiring. I just love the place, you feel like you are at home, loved curling up with a book in the hall, watching the fire in the wood burner, and I love the fact that there is under-floor heating in the yoga room in the barn! Can't fault any of it.

Will is an incredible yoga teacher, but I knew that already from attending his classes in London. He created a warm and inclusive atmosphere; the perfect environment for a yoga retreat. Will alternated between dynamic, upbeat classes in the morning to more restorative, yin-style classes in the evening which was the perfect combination.

Thank you for organising such a magical retreat. I really struggle to switch off and relax, but the setting was so lovely that it instantly slowed me down. Sunita’s flows are always a firm fave for me anyway - but I had no idea of all the other strings she had to her now so it was so lovely to have that mix of flow, yin and nidra. The journaling sesh was also a lovely touch.
