About Lagoon Retreat
Set in an elevated position, Lagoon Retreat is surrounded by a forested conservation area overlooking the Sülüngür Lagoon with spectacular views across the beautiful Dalyan delta and Istuzu beach.
The utter peace and privacy of the venue, immersed in nature, creates an idyllic setting for a yoga retreat where you can forest bathe, inhale the vital prana and tune into the birdsong and hum of cicadas.
Each day will begin with a morning yoga class in the fully equipped yoga shala with views of the surrounding forest and mountains.
The class will include asana, meditation and pranayama. Gently opening the body and attuning the mind to the breath, the class will slowly build into a flowing and dynamic sequence, always incorporating the cultivation of awareness, physical alignment and breath. The classes will be suitable for all levels and yoga experience.
Between classes you can simply relax by the pool or head out and explore the stunning beauty of the surroundings. The group will meet again in the late afternoon for a more gentle and restorative yoga session. Classes will begin on the morning of Sunday 20 August and there will be one yoga-free day during the week.
Things to do
A 5-minute bus ride from the local traditional village will take you to Istuzu, a long, sandy beach in the conservation area where loggerhead turtles come to lay their eggs. Or just a 15 minute walk through the forest brings you to a private beach on the lagoon.
A short bus ride from the village in the opposite direction will bring you to the charming riverside town of Dalyan with its shops and restaurants.
Visits to nearby ruins of ancient Caunos, mud baths, boat trips and other excursions, including off the beaten track, can be arranged if you want to explore.
Accommodation & food
The comfortable and well appointed ensuite bedrooms are suitable for single, double or twin accommodation with balconies and lovely forest views. All have air conditioning. One room has a seaview.
Delicious breakfast and dinner, unlimited fruit, water, teas and coffee are included. Inexpensive lunches are available a short walk away in charming little eateries in the local village or Dalyan. A light packed lunch can be provided for those heading off to the beach.
I had such a fabulous time! I chose the retreat specifically for Tami who is my favourite yoga teacher in the world, to be in her presence is such a blessing. Her classes refresh and restore and she makes you feel so cared for, it really makes the experience so special. I attended on my own and as usual on yoga retreats, I met a great and diversely interesting group of people. This is my third YOAS holiday and I will definitely attend more!Jules
It was a fantastic week. The teacher Tami was superb. Warm, welcoming, very supportive, very calming. I’m relatively new to yoga and thought she tailored the classes to all abilities seamlessly, ensuring we each honoured our own bodies’ needs. The sense of physical unwinding and the mental space I’ve come away with has been truly transformational. Thank you again. This was my first retreat and I’m totally hooked!Elizabeth
The week was an ideal experience. Tami is a master of making yoga experience a heavenly one. Nothing can describe the feeling of peace and inner silence during her classes unless one has been there. She is a true angel and healer. The week of living such a reality leaves an imprint on one's soul, mind and body - and creates a desire for more. I can not wait to the next retreat with Tami.
