About Vigla Village
The first thing to strike you about Vigla Village is it's sublime location on the Ionian Coast of the Greek island of Kefalonia. It's a feast for the senses as you take in the intoxicating smell of the pine and eucalyptus trees and the crystal clear, deep blue of the Ionian sea. Coupled with the welcoming and open-hearted Greek hospitality of Anna and Angelos, you cannot help but begin to relax as soon as you arrive.
Perched high on a clifftop, the clean and comfortable apartments with private balconies, overlook the inspiring panorama. Just a short stroll away you can take the picturesque path down to Vigla's own private beach and the warm and inviting sea.
Vigla Village simply blows you away; it's the sort of place that you want to come back to time after time.

In the evenings, there are a few charming traditional Greek tavernas within walking distance of Vigla. Lunch and dinner aren't included in the cost to give people the option to go for dinner as a group or self cater if they prefer, each apartment has a small kitchen.

This was my first yoga week and it surely will not be my last. Outstanding was our yoga teacher Alicia, her classes were very well structured and she managed to keep it interesting and challenging for all the different level of yogis. Her knowledge and also her teaching were excellent.Beatrice
Bonnie and I had a fantastic time on Kefalonia and I wanted to say thank you for your help and organisation. The accommodation was perfect, Anna the host was lovely and very helpful and Alicia was a fantastic teacher. We will definitely be looking at booking with Yoga on a Shoestring again!Barry
Completely fab! The yoga was amazing and I feel like I’ve understood and learnt a good few things which have already changed my practice. I loved the way I couldn’t see the peak pose coming. The shala was the perfect spot- and yoga in the wind and rain was extremely elemental. I think I got lucky with the group and my housemates - I feel like I got the best bunch. All in all this holiday far far exceeded my expectations and Alicia was completely awesome. Will definitely be booking another YOAS holiday.Esther
A note to say a huge thank you for a wonderful yoga holiday in beautiful Kefalonia. I had the most amazing time and am feeling totally refreshed and energised! Vigla was a perfect combination of stunning scenery, peaceful surroundings and warm hospitality from Anna and her family. Definitely somewhere I would love to go back to. I have also made so many new friends from our wonderful group.Melissa
Alicia has made me love yoga! I was dabbling with yoga for a few years, but it was Alicia who worked with me in such a way that I felt connected with the practice. She had just the right balance of teaching (she is so precise, and exact – you never get lost), physical and technical support, spiritual support and warmth. She is a real gem for YOAS, and any future retreat you have with Alicia teaching, we will likely be there.Susie
I had a wonderful week in Kefalonia. It was my first experience of a yoga holiday, I was traveling alone and I was a little apprehensive but found everyone welcoming. It was well organised and also relaxed. I am quite new to yoga and learnt a great deal from the instructor Alicia who was easy to follow and clearly very skilled. A beautiful location and lovely group of people. I will return.Penelope
The yoga week with Alicia was wonderful - she's such a good teacher, I've been practicing yoga for years and it really helped me to refine and deepen my practice. She did a great job of including everyone from almost total beginners to a fellow teacher! The place is so lovely - it was magical doing yoga outdoors facing the sea. Anna and Angelo took good care of us and the breakfasts were delicious. I really enjoyed the homely welcoming feel of the place and will definitely recommend it and YOAS to friends.Clare
