About 42 Acres

We head to the luxurious setting of the 42 Acres retreat space in Frome, Somerset for a magical late Spring weekend of yoga. A wonderful opportunity to revitalise in nature and enjoy reconnecting with yourself and others.

Set in 42 acres of private land, this beautiful retreat space is encircled by seven hundred acres of ancient forest. Sustainability and comfort are at the forefront of the 42 acres vision, with reclaimed materials used to outfit the interiors of the property, plus all of the power is renewable and self generated through biomass and solar.

The daily programme

A wonderful opportunity for you to relax your mind, rejuvenate your body and reawaken your spirit. You will enjoy yoga classes which focus on movement, breath and relaxation

You will enjoy two yoga classes daily with Catherine, during which you will focus on movement, breath and relaxation.

The day will begin with the morning class in the light and airy yoga yurt and will include meditation and alignment based asana practice. As you develop a stronger connection of your alignment and movement patterns, you will gradually release and unwind, letting go of long held tensions.

The group will meet again in the late afternoon to work into a deeper exploration of the poses, or for a more relaxing and restorative class. There will also be some yoga nidra to assist in deeply relaxing and recharging.

Accommodation

Accommodation options range from a luxury dorm to a beautiful en-suite master bedroom as well as twin, double and single occupancy rooms. The main house offers most room types including the deluxe dorm and the master en-suite. Set just a few steps away from the main house, Deer Cottages are all en-suite rooms offering twin, double and single occupancy options. Swallows Barn houses six smaller single occupancy single and double bed deluxe rooms with shared bathroom facilities. All rooms have high quality linen and towels.

The venue has several communal spaces for relaxing including a welcoming kitchen with cosy chairs by the fire, a library and a reading space. Delicious local, organic food will be served throughout the retreat. All meals are vegetarian.

Client Reviews

42 Acres is a magical haven. The unobtrusively cool interior design is in a league of its own and absolutely bang up-to-date, and yet, this beautiful home still retains its connection to the past. The setting is 42 acres of glorious nature, gorgeous English farmland, bounded by ancient meadows and forests. I experienced one of the most magical weekends at 42 acres and this place will forever be in my heart. I can't recommend it enough.
Great experience from start to finish. Stunning venue and food and Catherine Annis is a great teacher. I was new to Scaravelli yoga and yoga retreats and can honestly say I will definitely do this again

I cannot thank you enough for such a wonderful retreat at 42 Acres, I had such a lovely, peaceful time. Everything was absolutely wonderful: the food, the location, the classes, the massages and the people. I left feeling thoroughly rejuvenated and really inspired to explore yoga more.’
Alice
I had the most wonderful weekend thank you...so much. Really nourishing. The Scaravelli yoga was magical, inspiring and it has given me a whole different perspective – I really enjoyed it, and so did my body, it was a wonderful experience.
Emily
I had such a wonderful time at 42 Acres in Somerset last weekend. The house and accommodation were beautiful and spacious. Practicing yoga in the yurt was very special. It was a great crowd, with a good mix of people. Everyone got along really well and we had a good laugh too. The catering was spot on and the food was delicious. Yoga on a Shoestring organised everything perfectly and communication was excellent. I will definitely be booking again.
Nicole
You are the best Scaravelli yoga teacher I have ever had, and I love your mixture of a very thoughtful and intelligent approach to yoga with a light touch and sense of humour.
