Michelle has been teaching yoga since 2001 and also has over 20 years experience working in the field of natural therapies. Her approach to yoga draws upon years of practice with inspirational teachers, all of whom have been influenced by the work of Vanda Scaravelli.
Michelle draws on this experience and combines it with her long-standing interest in insight meditation (vipassana) from the Theravada Buddhist tradition.
Her classes involve cultivating patience and relaxation by moving slowly, so we become aware of where we hold tension, and bringing mindfulness to how we move and rest. This approach of developing curiosity in ‘how’ we practice enables us to release unhelpful habits of movement and find a sense of freedom in the body. This enhances our ability to become more grounded, stable and at ease – whether we are engaged in asana, pranayama or informal practice.
Michelle is based in Brighton, England, where she teaches regular yoga sessions. She also works as an artist and exhibits her paintings regularly.
