In Sabina, a simple and elegant retreat in the heart of the Sabine Hills, offers a magical setting. Less than an hour north of Rome near Umbria, In Sabina lies in the midst of the untouched Italian country side. The property is peaceful and rustic, offering a haven for spiritual practice, relaxation and rejuvenation. The retreat centre’s land is extensive, where you can take in stunning sunsets and nature walks. It also features lovely gardens, a natural hot spring, pond and swimming pool. |
| The daily programme |
The morning will begin with pranayama and meditation, held outdoors on the magnificent wooden yoga platform overlooking the lush valley. Afterward, an asana practice of slow-to-moderate vinyasa flow, appropriate for all levels of practitioners, will be offered. The late-afternoon session will be a combination of yin and restorative postures. Three delicious Italian-vegetarian meals will be served daily. On one evening, we will have dinner out at a local restaurant. Also, an optional day-trip excursion to Umbria will be available for those who would like to explore the culturally rich hill town of Orvieto (on this day there will be no afternoon yoga practice). |

| Accommodation |
The exquisitely restored 17th century stone buildings have been converted into accommodation and overlook a panorama of olive groves and fruit trees. The rooms are designed in a simple, natural style, with a combination of new and antique furnishings. Four of the bedrooms are ensuite; the other rooms share a bathroom between two rooms. All accommodation is shared between two people, although single room arrangements may be possible. Please check with Yoga on a Shoestring for more information. Single and double yurt accommodation is also available. The yurts have an outdoor shower and shared bathroom facility. |

Rome has two airports: Leonardo da Vinci (Fumicino) and Ciampino. The nearest train station to In Sabina is Stimigliano. Please contact In Sabina two weeks in advance with the information needed for your transfer. Send an email to giulialandor@tiscali.it with the following information: - Your flight details: airport and time of arrival. - Where you wish to be picked up: at the airport, or at Stimigliano train station. Please note that there are no regular taxis in the area at all so it is important to arrange this in advance. Departure time - On your day of departure the latest train you can take from Stimigliano is at 9.33am. For those with cars the leaving time is 10am. |

When you know which train you will be on, call In Sabina on +39 340 3876028. Get off at Stimigliano (50 minutes from Tiburtina) where a taxi will pick you up. The stations are not well signposted so be alert and aware of the time. To check train times, see www.ferroviedellostato.it If you have an early flight, trains run at 33 minutes past the hour from 4.33am onwards. |
Transfers |
Pick up from either airport – by car or minibus (1.5 hours). By car: €120 (up to 3 passengers with a small amount of luggage). By minibus: €170 (up to 8 passengers). Please pay the driver. Pick up from Stimigliano train station – by car or minibus (20 minutes) If you are coming by train you must call or text In Sabina on the day, when you know which train you will be on. The mobile number to inform us about your train arrival time is +39 340 3876028. Price of car: €25 (for up to 3 people with small amount of luggage) Price of minibus: €25 for one or two people (or €10 each for 3 to 8 people) (After 10.0 at night and before 7.0 in the morning the minimum charge is €35) |
