Treat yourself to a holiday of a life time in the spectacular beauty and richness of Rajasthan. Standing high on a plateau of the great Vindhychal ranges is the 16 th century Castle Bijaipur. Having been occupied by Kings and Queens for centuries, the present Maharaja (a great lover of yoga) has opened the doors of his exquisite castle to the public. The hospitality is so wonderful you are made to feel like a maharaj yourself from the moment you arrive. Surrounded by villages and breathtaking views of the valley, this really is a very special place.

The hotel itself has a wonderful swimming pool, beautiful gardens to sit in, musicians to entertain you and delicious food with secret recipes that have been in the family for decades.

The rooms are all clean, well maintained and have both the luxury of modern comforts and the elegance of the past. You can share a room or have single accommodation.

THINGS TO DO

Bijaipur offers an action packed holiday or a lazy poolside holiday…the choice is yours.

There are: jeep safaris to experience nearby wildlife and birdlife, treks to waterfalls and the surrounding villages and temples, wonderful Marwari horses to explore the countryside on, daytrips to Chittorgarh Fort and the stunning city of Udaipur, cooking lessons, bicycle rides and table tennis. There is no shortage of things to do in and around the castle…even just a stroll into the surrounding village is a feast for the body, soul and mind.

THE TIMETABLE

We will spend 10 days in the castle and 2 days in luxurious tents. We will camp (in style) by the lotus lake, amidst the stillness and beauty of the Rajisthan countryside.

There will be two yoga sessions a day. In the morning we will do early morning meditation and pranayama, followed by asanas. The session will be about 3 hours. The evenings will vary with restorative yoga postures, meditation, pranayama, visualization, dancing, singing and chanting. Evening sessions will usually last between 1-2 hours.

All sessions are optional, although people are encouraged to attend as much as possible. Creative workshops will be given in response to the groups needs. We will also spend a little time during the holiday, whilst staying by the lake, exploring the beauty of silence.

There will be a yoga free day during the holiday. All sessions are optional, although people are encouraged to attend as much as possible. Creative workshops will be given in response to the groups needs.

GETTING TO UDAIPUR
We will meet in Udaipur on Saturday 3rd March at Hotel Caravan Serai between 2-4pm.

You can fly to Udaipur from Delhi or Bombay for around £50- £80. Alternatively you can fly to Ahmdebad from Bombay or Delhi with Kingfisher airlines or Spicejet for around £10-15 and then take an overnight train from Ahmdebad to Udaipur.

For those on a tighter budget there are also trains to Udaipur from Bombay (about 15 hours) and Delhi (about 8 hours) We will give more detailed instructions on how to get to the meeting place in Udaipur when you book.
