| Accommodation |
|
Safari Garden Hotel is approximately 30 minutes from Banjul Airport and is located in Fajara. It is a small guesthouse and is a simple, homely based hotel and is known as the hotel that 'gives more than it takes'. It is set amongst lush gardens and is 5 minutes walk away from the local beach. The food is delightful, it is locally sourced and caters for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The hotel has an outdoor pool and a small little bookshop and craft market. Safari Garden is a good base for the yoga retreat as you can easily use it as a base during the week to visit sites around The Gambia, such as local craft markets, sacred forests, river trips and lots more!! The beach is approx 5 mins walk away. |

'The Gambia is a place where you are immediately invited to immerse yourself in the moment, lose yourself in everyday interactions with people that are so unassumingly enriching, joyful and endlessly giving that you 'I had a wonderful week in Gambia with Deepa. Her yoga opened and stretched me like I've never been opened and stretched before! She tailored the yoga just right so that we worked on particular areas of our bodies to really make progress, but included enough variety so it never became boring or repetitive. Also, after each class I felt the right mixture of being challenged, energized and relaxed so that I had the energy and desire to do yoga 4 hours a day for a week! Deepa also knows Gambia and its people really well, so has plenty of suggestions of things to do and see while you're there. I thoroughly recommend yoga with Deepa' Sally (London), February 2011 Retreat Our retreats are also featured in The Lonely Planet – For The Gambia and Senegal "For total relaxation in beautiful surroundings try deepaspirit's Eco Yoga Holidays" |
