Join us for this very special Tour of Tuscany yoga holiday. We've chosen Ebbio, a beautifully restored farmhouse, set upon the hillside, overlooking the breathtaking Tuscan countryside. Included in this holiday are several excursions, allowing you to spend your days exploring Italy's most beloved region.

About Ebbio

Ebbio is a magical place surrounded by 300 acres of forest and nestled in the heart of an ancient volcano that was sacred to the Etruscans. Located in the stunning countryside of Tuscany, it is only 42 km from Florence, 11 km from Siena, 9 km from Castellina in Chianti and 1km from Monteriggioni, a little medieval jewel. Ebbio is an 800 year-old classic Tuscan farmhouse converted into a charming yoga retreat. Ebbio sits high upon the hillside and looking out one of the many windows you will be captivated by the undulating hills swept with thriving vineyards, olive trees, sunflower fields and an enchanting evergreen forest. Ebbio honors its heritage and is still a working, organic Tuscan farm and vineyard, as well as a sanctuary for many animals, including horses, donkeys, geese, peacocks, chickens, dogs and cats - animals are everywhere; it's wonderful.

Accommodation

The 800 year-old Tuscan farmhouse has been restored to perfection, with carefully chosen furnishings from the period, as well as blending modern-day pieces for comfort. With its high ceilings and many windows, the farmhouse is flooded with natural light, making it bright and airy. The original cobblestone floor keeps the farmhouse naturally cool during the warm summer days and nights. The guest rooms are spacious and shared, some with double occupancy and some with triple occupancy. Single rooms are available for an additional charge. The many bathrooms, which are situated between rooms, are modern and immaculately kept.

Meals

You will be delighted by the beautifully prepared, seasonal, authentic vegetarian, Italian food. Much of the fruits, vegetables, herbs and eggs are gathered just hours before preparation from the surrounding organic gardens and orchards. The meals are healthy and delicious with wine from Ebbio's vineyard served during lunch and dinner. Self-serve espresso is available throughout the day.

The daily programme

You will enjoy two yoga classes daily which focus on movement, breath and relaxation. Both Jodi and Carlene are caring and experienced teachers, guiding students of all levels through their practice.

Excursions

There is so much to do and see in Tuscany, that we have created an itinerary that allows you to truly experience the beauty and history of the region:

A day in San Gimignano - In the heart of the Etruscan landscape, San Gimingnano is a medieval village founded in the 10th century. Once a relay point for pilgrims traveling to and from Rome, today it is internationally known for it's exquisitely preserved architecture, especially its towers, marking the wealth and prosperity of its early inhabitants.

A day in Siena - Siena is one of the most beautiful cities in Tuscany. A magnificent ensemble of medieval palaces, cathedrals and towers and a soaring skyline dominated by the needle of the Torre di Mangia - the city’s pride. Siena’s bustling city sits only four streets away from the quiet of rolling hills, olive groves and country orchards of the sun-drenched valley. Siena the city is filled with Gothic architecture and ancient buildings cast in warm, brown Siena-colored brick. A visit to Siena is like journeying backwards through time, walking through the winding alleyways surrounding the unique and world famous Piazza del Campo (the shell-shaped area with scalloped edges that is the heart of the city) or climbing the steep steps to view treasures of art, everything seems to have remained much as it was in medieval times, when the city enjoyed its greatest artistic and civil splendor.

Medieval Festival - We're fortunate that our yoga holiday dates coincide with what has been named one of Tuscany's "most enchanting medieval festivals." You will walk to the Festival together from Ebbio.

Mediterranean Sea & Roman Hot Springs
- This is a full day excursion to the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea where you'll swim, relax and enjoy a picnic prepared by Ebbio's chef. On your return trip from the sea, you'll take a detour to the Roman hot springs where you'll soak in the idyllic setting of the springs.

Monteriggioni Castle - Together you will walk from Ebbio to Monteriggioni, where you can take in a stunning 360 degree view of the Tuscan countryside from the Castle's lookout point, visit the charming shops or enjoy a cappuccino or gelato in one of the many cafes on the piazza.
