Croydon Hall is situated just three miles from the North Somerset Coast on the edge of Exmoor National Park. The surrounding area boasts of some of the most delightful scenery in England, from the wilderness of the moors to the cosiness of traditional local fishing harbours.

 Local attractions include the superbly preserved Dunster Castle as part of the medieval village with its unique yarn market. Throughout the summer months the West Somerset Railway runs a picturesque, traditional steam railway service from Minehead via Washford to Bishops Lydeard near Taunton.

The area is criss-crossed by a network of well-maintained footpaths and bridle ways. Several walks are available from the doorstep and maps of the local area provided at reception.

Croydon Hall is best reached via the M5. Junction 23 (from the North) is 24 miles away and Junction 25 (from the South) is 20 miles. We can send you a detailed itinerary from your town to Croydon Hall on request.

From the North, come off the M5 at Junction 23 (Bridgwater), travelling South on the A38. At Bridgwater, follow signs to Minehead and the A39. At Williton, take the A39 towards Minehead (turning right at the mini-roundabout at the County Stores).

To reach us from the South, turn off the M5 at Taunton (Junction 25) and follow the signs to Minehead (A358). At Williton, turn left at the mini-roundabout on to the A39 at the Egremont Hotel.

Pass through the village of Washford, and after about one third of a mile take the left turn at the first crossroads, sign-posted "Croydon Hall", just before the Dragon House Hotel. Follow this lane for a mile and take the first turning right, following the sign to "Croydon Hall". Drive up this road ignoring any turnings off until you come to two big stone pillars, with a post box in the wall next to the left-hand one and a sign saying "Private Road" on the other. There is another sign here saying "Croydon Hall" at the crossdroads.

Go through these pillars. We're a few houses down on the left. Outside there's a sign saying "Croydon Hall"'. You're here.

Please drive carefully along the country lanes as there are often people and animals on the road.

BY COACH

Croydon Hall can arrange for you to travel on Berry's Coach from London Hammersmith Bus Station to Bridgwater in Somerset where you will be met by our local taxi company and driven to Croydon Hall.

The estimated scheduled journey time is about 3.5 hours from London Hammersmith Bus Station to Croydon Hall.

There is one departure each day from London Hammersmith at 3pm (5pm on Sundays) and a return leaving Croydon Hall at 3.30pm on Sundays, 5pm on Fridays and 10am Mondays to Saturdays.

Bookings for this service must be made through Croydon Hall preferably one week in advance. The current price for this service is £29.00 for a return and £19.00 for a single ticket. Please call our travel desk for details. If you choose to book a ticket you will have to pay us in advance.
