This luxury retreat centre is set against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, the Cliffs of Moher and the beautiful countryside of County Clare, Ireland.

The Cliffs of Moher is located on the west coast of Ireland along the country's breathtaking coastline. The centre is set in pristine nature, with stunning views of the ocean and the cliffs.

The daily programme

This is a true opportunity to unplug from daily life, live by the sea, breathe the fresh ocean air and immerse yourself in nature, yoga and reflection.

We will begin each day with a mindfulness meditation at 7:00am. From 7:30 to 8:45am we'll move through a fluid and meditative hatha flow yoga practice. Afterwards, from 9:00 to 10:00am, we'll enjoy a healthy, seasonal and delicious breakfast.

From 10:30 to 11:30, there will be a walk along the cliffs. A beautiful and nourishing lunch is served at 1:00pm. You can then enjoy free-time until we meet again for afternoon yoga at 5:45 pm. Dinner is served at 7:30 pm.

Things to do

Walking the Cliffs: Just outside the Cliffs of Moher gate you can walk on a variety of different loops of varying distance. There are walks with hills or without. Taking a left out the gate will bring you uphill towards the cliffs. To the right, you can do the low-lying loops around Clahane. The Cliffs of Moher Walk can be up to 14km long for those looking for a challenge. There are shorter sections that can be walked with ease, especially if you're interested in simply taking a stroll.

Visiting Clahane: Just down the road by the water is Clahane. It is a small towns land of Liscannor with a famous little swimming hole. It is safe to swim here off the rocks. It's a beautiful place to relax and read a book or even relax in the sun. Swimming is possible every day in the summer. There is an excellent loop walk coming straight out of the retreat which brings you along the water's edge and then back again. It's approximately 5km and a lovely way to get some fresh air and exercise. It's not unusual to spot dolphins and porpoises here all year-round and it's a great bay for snorkeling. Many Cliffs of Moher guests spend a lot of time here.

It's possible to drive or take a taxi to Liscannor. a quaint little fishing village. It's a wonderful place to explore and stop for a cup of tea. The pub fronts are beautiful representations of the old Irish village and Liscannor has a very old history. There is a pretty little harbour there but most people come to Liscannor to sample the fresh seafood caught out in the bay and to listen to the traditional Irish music held in some of the local pubs. It's a wonderful way to sample rural village life. Just outside the village is Cill MacCreiche (Kilmacreehy) Church, one of the most ancient ecclesiastical ruins in County Clare. There is a beautiful beach walk right beside the church where you are likely to have the strand to yourself.

You can also walk to The Rock Shop, just five minutes away, a cafe and very unique gift shop - or take an excursion to nearby Doolin, considered the Mecca of Irish music, or to Lahinch, a seaside town with plenty of shops, pubs and cafes. Some prefer never to leave the natural beauty of the Cliffs of Moher retreat centre and simply relax in one of the many communal spaces during their free-time.

Accommodation at Cliffs of Moher

All of the rooms at the Cliffs of Moher are en-suite, apart from two rooms which share a large bathroom. All rooms are tastefully decorated with comfortable mattresses and linens.

Each room has a view - whether that is sea-view or countryside view. The rooms are all twin-share with two beds that can convert into a queen-sized bed for couples. Some of these rooms are available for single use.

Please note priority of sea-view rooms is given to twin share use. There is storage space, shelf space and hanging space in each room, and all rooms are equipped with towels and a hair dryers.


"Heaven on earth" - I have stayed for 5-day retreats on two occasions and will definitely go back. The setting is just beautiful - nothing like an early morning meditation looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean to set you up for a great day. The retreat itself is in a perfect location, close to great beaches and breath-taking walks.

Michael and Michelle have clearly put so much thought and work into the facilites and into the content of the retreats. As you can tell from all reviews, the food is just fantastic; always tasty and nourishing and there is plenty of it! I have travelled on my own on both occasions and have found that you can have as much or as little company as you want during your stay. There is a very easy going and relaxed atmosphere. If you wish, you can just go to classes and take time out to read your book. On the other hand, if you want to try everything from classes, to surfing, to hill walking & holistic treatments then this is the place for you too.

Here you will get to stop and spend time on yourself, nestled away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You cannot but feel great & completely re-energised after a stay here.

Michelle and Michael made me feel like home from the very first minute of my arrival. Lovely cozy warm rooms, very modern and clean. The view of the countryside and The Atlantic Ocean are just breathtaking. Incredible food from Hugo. I'm not a vegetarian, but food was absolutely delicious and every meal was just amazing - full of flavour and goodness.

On Sat during our 'free time' I went surfing to Lehinch, which is just down the road. Before I went Hugo was very helpful with finding the right surf spot for the day and on the return Michael was very helpful with washing out my wetsuit etc - little things, but they make all the difference :-) I will definitely come back again and will look forward to meeting these beautiful people again.

Arrival at the retreat centre is from 4pm on Sunday 2 July and departure is after brunch on Friday 7 July.

Shannon is the closest airport. Ryanair and Aer Lingus offer very affordable flights from most London airports.
