About the retreat

We are very excited to return to boutique retreat venue, 42 Acres, for a New Year Yoga Retreat to honour another New Year in idyllic surroundings with great facilitators offering, yoga, meditation, pranayama, music, singing and massage.

Also on offer are beautiful countryside walks, delicious wholesome organic food, fireside chats and quiet time to contemplate, new friends to meet and a space to simply be.

Book early to make sure you can join us to mindfully mark the transition from 2018 into 2019. Come and celebrate love, life and friendship -  on your own or with your friends, either way you're guaranteed to have a special time and begin the new year with a clear mind, an open heart and a rejuvenated spirit...what better way to start the year!

Set in 42 acres of private land, this beautiful retreat space is encircled by seven hundred acres of ancient forest. Sustainability and comfort are at the forefront of the 42 Acres vision,  with reclaimed materials used in the interiors of the property, plus all power is renewable and self-generated through biomass and solar.

The New Year programme

This retreat will be an opportunity for you to have some quiet time, space and contemplation. Alongside the morning and evening programmes of yoga there will be space to reflect and re-set for the new year.

After dinner on the first evening we gather together to enjoy a delicious yoga nidra (yoga sleep) practice to set the tone of these self-nurturing days.

We will start the day with meditation followed by a flowing, dynamic and strengthening asana class between 8.15 and 10am. A delicious breakfast will then be served with free-time and lunch to follow.

We will meet again in the afternoon for a more restorative, enquiring yoga practice that incorporates sound healing.

After dinner on New Year's Eve there will be an opportunity to meditate, set intentions and share by the log fire. There will be a special kirtan (devotional singing).

Our schedule includes optional extras such as a fun 'Pop-Up Mantra Choir' and evening 'Dancing and Drawing the Chakras'. Participants are welcome to offer talks or workshops over the four days which we will try to fit into our schedule. Spontaneity is very likely. This retreat is suitable for all levels of yoga.

Accommodation & food

Accommodation options range from a luxury 3 person dorm room  to twin and single rooms, some en-suite and others with shared bathrooms closeby. Luxury linen and towels are provided in the stylish and comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms.

The venue has many cosy spaces to relax, chat by the fire or curl up with a good book. Delicious organic vegetarian food will be served in the spacious farmhouse kitchen throughout the retreat.

Client Reviews

42 Acres is a magical haven. The unobtrusive cool interior design is in a league of its own and absolutely bang up-to-date and yet, this beautiful home still retains its connection to the past. The setting is 42 Acres of glorious nature, gorgeous English farmland, bounded by ancient meadows and forests. I experienced one of the most magical weekends at 42 Acres and this place will forever be in my heart. I can't recommend it enough.
I found the venue to be excellent as was the food. I found Kate's teaching fantastic and she was very good at bringing a group together and holding the space. It felt a very safe environment to go deep into ones self. All-in-all I felt it to be an amazing experience on many levels and would not hesitate to book something with you again. I have been spreading the word already!
Natasha
Kate is a very special person and creates a group dynamic that is so supportive and nurturing from which you feel able to just 'be'. The yoga was fantastic, set at just the right pace and the spiritual element adds hugely to the journey.
Zoe
I cannot thank you enough for such a wonderful retreat at 42 Acres, I had such a lovely, peaceful time. Everything was absolutely wonderful: the food, the location, the classes, the massages and the people. I left feeling thoroughly rejuvenated and really inspired to explore yoga more.
Alice
Kate adds a magical dimension to all her teaching.
Jennifer
The whole thing was wonderful and far exceeded my expectations. Kate’s yoga sessions were of a very high standard, varied, well thought out and flowed really well. Her chakra meditation was one of the best I’ve done. Both her and Vaishnavi’s singing was so beautiful. The kirtan we had on New Years Eve was very special and memorable. 42 Acres itself was perfect from the food, accommodation, yoga and meditation spaces, common areas and staff. The whole weekend really had a very special shared energy and I came away feeling refreshed and invigorated. A great way to end one year and start a new one.
