About Vigla Village

The first thing to strike you about Vigla Village is its sublime location on the Ionian Coast of the Greek island of Kefalonia. It's a feast for the senses as you take in the intoxicating smell of the pine and eucalyptus trees and the crystal clear, deep blue of the Ionian sea. Coupled with the welcoming and open-hearted Greek hospitality of Anna and Angelos, you cannot help but begin to relax as soon as you arrive.

Perched high on a clifftop, the clean and comfortable apartments with private balconies, overlook the inspiring panorama. Just a short stroll away you can take the picturesque path down to Vigla's own private beach and the warm and inviting sea.

Vigla Village simply blows you away; it's the sort of place that you want to come back to time after time.

The daily programme

Each day will begin with a flowing asana class on our wonderful yoga platform overlooking the endless blue ocean, opening the body and attuning the mind to the breath.

Morning practice will be followed by a hearty breakfast. Then you will be free to head off down to the beach, relax by the pool or explore the stunning beauty of the surroundings.

The group will meet again in the late afternoon for a second more restorative yoga session, often including pranayama and meditation as part of the practise. The classes will be suitable for all levels and yoga experience. There will be one yoga free day during the week.

In the evenings, there are a few charming traditional Greek tavernas within walking distance of Vigla. Lunch and dinner aren't included in the cost to give people the option to go for dinner as a group or self cater if they prefer, each apartment has a small kitchen.

Things to do

One could quite easily while away a week of deep rest and rujuvenation here, enjoying the wonderful private beach, swimming pool and tennis courts on offer. There's also plenty of space at Vigla Village to find a quiet spot in the shade of the trees enjoying the colours and fragrance of the beautiful flowers.

The local village, Spartia, also has its' own pretty beach just a 10 minute walk away and a small centre with a couple of shops and a restaurant.

For those of you with an adventurous spirit you could hire a car to explore the outstanding beauty of this island. Caves, boat trips, snorkelling, fishing, trips to stunning local villages and a visit to Myrtos, known to be one of the world's most beautiful beaches, are amongst some of the many things on offer in Kefalonia.

Accommodation

Vigla Village offers self catering apartments which are clean, spacious and have air conditioning and private balconies with sea views. All apartments have between one and three bedrooms and share a bathroom, small lounge area and kitchen facilities.

Client Reviews

A note to say a huge thank you for a wonderful yoga holiday in beautiful Kefalonia. I had the most amazing time and am feeling totally refreshed and energised! Vigla was a perfect combination of stunning scenery, peaceful surroundings and warm hospitality from Anna and her family. Definitely somewhere I would love to go back to. I have also made so many new friends from our wonderful group.

I can honestly say that I had the most wonderful time on the Kefalonia Yoga holiday. It far exceeded my expectations. I had never done a yoga holiday before and was a complete beginner but I had nothing to worry about - the people were so lovely and friendly, it was like we had known each other for years. Rory was a fantastic, attentive teacher - as a beginner, I felt I could go as far as my own limits, without forcing things and felt myself progressing at my own pace day by day. The accommodation was simple but lovely and Anna the owner is so lovely, welcoming and helpful, there is nothing you need to worry about, just relax and enjoy!
A note to say how much I loved the yoga holiday. Vigla Village was just my sort of place. It had a stunning yoga deck, lovely owners and provided perfect breakfasts. Thanks very much for arranging.

We had a truly wonderful and relaxing time in Kefalonia last week...I am feeling fully revitalised and nourished for the time away. Rory is a fantastic teacher, the flow of the classes throughout the week was excellent. We loved Vigla village and plan to return next year. Everything was the perfect balance of spaciousness, engagement, relaxation, strengthening and nourishing my body and soul with the yoga, sea-swimming and delicious food. We truly loved it.

The yoga retreat was absolutely amazing - we had a great bunch of yogis and Rory is an excellent teacher who clearly has so much knowledge - it was a pleasure to practice with him everyday. The location was stunning and there really was nothing I can fault! I’ll be recommending this week in Greece to friends (as it had already been recommended to me by someone who went last year!) and I hope to go on one of your retreats again. Thanks for providing a wonderful retreat.

I love Rory's no-nonsense, gentle approach and I always leave feeling peaceful and energised at the same time.
