About Vigla Village
The first thing to strike you about Vigla Village is it's sublime location on the Ionian Coast of the Greek island of Kefalonia. It's a feast for the senses as you take in the intoxicating smell of the pine and eucalyptus trees and the crystal clear, deep blue of the Ionian sea. Coupled with the welcoming and open-hearted Greek hospitality of Anna and Angelos, you cannot help but begin to relax as soon as you arrive.
Perched high on a clifftop, the clean and comfortable apartments with private balconies, overlook the inspiring panorama. Just a short stroll away you can take the picturesque path down to Vigla's own private beach and the warm and inviting sea.
Vigla Village simply blows you away; it's the sort of place that you want to come back to time after time.
The daily programme
Each day will begin with a flowing asana class on our wonderful yoga platform overlooking the endless blue ocean, opening the body and attuning the mind to the breath.
Morning practice will be followed by a hearty breakfast. Then you will be free to head off down to the beach, relax by the pool or explore the stunning beauty of the surroundings.
The group will meet again in the late afternoon for a second more restorative yoga session, often including pranayama and meditation as part of the practise. The classes will be suitable for all levels and yoga experience. There will be one yoga free day during the week.
In the evenings, there are a few charming traditional Greek tavernas within walking distance of Vigla. Lunch and dinner aren't included in the cost to give people the option to go for dinner as a group or self cater if they prefer, each apartment has a small kitchen.

We had a wonderful time. The venue is perfect, quiet and beautiful. Anna the host is the warmest lady, so full of joy and so kind and helpful. The Yoga with our fab teacher, David, was varied and for me quite inspirational, he managed to shift some blockages and I feel lighter and open. He's a great teacher and I wish I lived closer to him for more of his teachings. The only downfall .... I should have stayed longer.Kathryn
We had a great time in Kefalonia. It was our third time out there with David. The location is fantastic and Anna is wonderful, but David's excellent teaching was the most outstanding thing about the holiday. I have come to expect a lot from him and he never disappoints - he is clearly an expert in his field and at the top of his game. Although he makes his teaching seem effortless, the varied sessions, clear instructions and subtle details he includes all illustrate the level of effort he has put into his teaching. I couldn't have wished for better. Looking forward to next year already :)Will
We had a wonderful time! Just the right balance between energising (yoga) and relaxing (environment). As we all were familiar with the place, we could just sink into it, lie back and enjoy. David was terrific, as ever, I really love his classes. Thanks for offering these wonderful holidays.Ursula
Thank you for another fantastic yoga holiday experience on Kefalonia. We were very lucky with the weather and even luckier with David the teacher! I have done a lot of yoga and David is a truly original wonderful teacher who mixes yoga with some pilates and lyrical dance type movements. My body has never felt so good! Many of the ladies on this retreat were also in awe of his unique style......and we have all left having had a wonderful experience and a huge amount of fun. Anna at Vigla Village was warm and hospitable and I feel like I have a new Greek mama! Thanks so much to Yoga On A Shoestring and I will be returning for sure to Kefalonia next year.Chloe
