About Finca Argayall

Finca Argayall is one of the best kept secrets of the Canary Islands. This magical venue on the unspoilt island of La Gomera, sits nestled in the cliffs in a secluded bay. With a spectacularly diverse landscape. The contrast of the rainforest, unspoilt beaches and small fishing towns makes a visit to this island a full and rich experience.

The venue itself runs as a community and welcomes others to experience and respect this beautiful and unique life. There is an organic farm, tropical gardens, a natural spring, two swimming pools and the beach a few steps away.

A wonderful opportunity to take some luxurious time for yourself, to restore and nourish mind, body and soul in the truly healing environment of La Finca. There will be two 90 minute yoga classes each day, suitable for all levels and yoga experience. There will be one yoga free day.

The daily programme

The morning class will gently open the body and attune the mind to the breath, the class will slowly move and build into a flowing and dynamic sequence, always incorporating the cultivation of awareness, physical alignment, breath and the chakras (energy centres).

The afternoon sessions will be a playful and creative exploration of the healing power of sound. Drawing from a variety of traditions to connect breath, body and voice. We'll chant mantras in order to open the heart, cleanse the mind and create inner and outer harmony.

As an experienced singer, performer, yoga teacher and sound healer, Kate brings a sense of joy, freedom and sacredness to these sessions. No one has to "perform" - it's simply an opportunity to meditate, heal and wake-up your avenue of expression in your own unique way. Enjoy the special high that's possible when we come together as a group to make one 'voice' with specific healing intention.

Things to do

Throughout each day you will be offered three organic vegetarian meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Apart from one evening when we can go into the nearby village to taste the culinary delights offered locally. In the village you can also book to go mountain biking, dolphin watching and kayaking. There are plenty of walks on offer on this beautiful island, from traditional fishing villages to rainforests, banana plantations and secluded sandy beaches.

Or you might just want to stay within the beauty of the venue itself, relaxing by one of the two pools or simply take a few steps onto the beach and go for a swim in the warm, blue sea. Treatments such as massage and homeopathy are also available at an additional cost.

Accommodation

There is a selection of uniquely designed rooms. The terrace rooms with a garden view are quiet, comfortable and prettily decorated with a shared shady veranda that overlooks the tropical gardens. Bathroom facilities are close-by and shared.

The charming and comfortable garden huts are spacious and airy with a private seated area outside. They are set in the lush green gardens with the serene sounds of bird song and the sea.

The pyramid and A-frame are both well furnished little houses with a double bed in this paradise garden with a sitting space outside. The pyramid is ideal for a couple sharing and the A frame is perfect for single occupancy. All garden accommodation has plentiful shared bathroom facilities nearby.

The terrace rooms with a sea-view have doors that open out onto a second shared veranda with stunning ocean views. These rooms have en suite bathroom facilities.

There are a very limited number of rooms for single occupancy.

I feel that to visit La Gomera you've discovered a haven, precious and rare. To smell the ocean and taste the salt in the air makes you feel as if you've heard the song of the island and your soul has been set free.

It was a fab holiday and a beautiful, special place. Thank you! Ishwara was a cool yoga teacher and I loved his pranayama, chanting and strong asana practice. He was friendly and inspiring too. Very laid back. The group was particularly special I thought, we all got on really well, so it was delightful. Food amazing and the community really lovely to stay with. Didn't want to leave. Makes me want to see more of what you offer.

I found the venue to be excellent as was the food. I found Kate's teaching fantastic and she was very good at bringing a group together and holding the space. It felt a very safe environment to go deep into ones self. All in all I felt it to be an amazing experience on many levels and would not hesitate to book something with you again. This was a really wonderful trip. The accommodation was great. I didn't feel like a guest in hotel but rather a welcome guest in Finca's community. The food was plentiful and delicious. Regarding the teaching / yoga practice. Kate is the most amazing person who just radiates peace. I loved the practise and felt really quite sad when I had to leave a day early. I look forward to travelling on another trip with YOAS soon.

Travel Arrangements

For La Gomera fly to Tenerife South. There are several airlines that fly to this airport. There are links below for some of them:

Skyscanner (a very useful flight comparison website)
Thomson
Ryanair
Easyjet
Thomas Cook

It is best to arrive before midday if possible to take the afternoon ferry across to La Gomera. From the airport you will take a taxi to Los Cristianos ferry port, a 15 minute journey. From here you will take a ferry to the island of La Gomera. The ferry takes about 45 minutes and costs between 30 - 40 euros. From San Sebastian the group can take a taxi together direct to Finca Argayall or alternatively there is a bus.
For the return we recommend you take an afternoon flight. It is a little adventure to get to the Finca but really worth it for such a special place.
